Seasonal characteristics of children's orthopedic shoes

While manufacturing Twiki children's orthopedic shoes, specialists of the Twiki company take care of the maximum comfort and convenience of wearing such shoes by children. For Twiki shoes we use only high-quality materials that are selected considering different climatic conditions and weather events.

Twiki shoes from the winter collection are recommended for use in case if the outdoor temperature is from 0° to -15 °C. The warm fur lining keeps your child’s feet warm and protects them from the cold. For the manufacturing of winter boots and all boots, we use two options of fur: either natural (sheepskin) and woolen on a knitted basis. Natural fur has perfect thermal insulation, it maximally warms feet in the cold season, allowing the feet to easily breathe.

Woolen fur on a knitted basis, consisting of 80% natural fibers, is a peer competitor to natural fur, which also has amazing breathable characteristics and warming properties. However, compared to natural fur, it has a higher wear-resistance properties, that is, it doesn’t wear out or rub through over time.

Due to the use of high-quality materials, winter Twiki shoes don’t become hard or crack during their use at low temperatures. Spring-autumn shoes of the Twiki brand are recommended for use at outer temperatures from 0°C to 15°C. Children's shoes and ankle boots with the lining made of woolen textile fabric are suitable for wear in the autumn-spring period in cool weather, however, they are not suitable for wearing in frosty weather. The elastic high-quality leather used in the manufacture of spring-autumn Twiki shoes, combined with a breathable lining that made of 100% natural wool, provides maximum comfort, and additionally warms up the foot.

Shoes and ankle boots with a leather lining are used in the period of temperature drops. They are also suitable for walking and as a second pair of change shoes. During the warm period, children need open summer shoes, which are most often called peep toe shoes or sandals. They can be used for walking, as well as home shoes or a second pair of change shoes in educational institutions. Open summer shoes are available in two lining options: either natural leather or On Steam material. Genuine leather lining is a traditional wear-resistant breathable material. On Steam is an innovative high-technology material, the characteristics of which surpass the qualities of genuine leather. On Steam fabric instantly absorbs moisture and quickly dries, which results in a "dry feet" effect.

Besides, when choosing one of another season of Twiki orthopedic shoes, one has to consider the following features:

 • when choosing the right size, closed (winter and spring-autumn) shoes should have a 1 cm allowance. Open summer shoes should have a 0.5 cm allowance
• in winter and spring-autumn models, there is a leather detail called a pocket. It’s sewn on the lining in the heel area and aimed at the prevention of excessive foot rubbing and protection of the shoes from scratches and cracks.
• the toe and heel parts of many models of spring-autumn and winter Twiki shoes are equipped with a special hard piece of natural leather that protects shoes from scratches and cracks for a long time
• when choosing shoes that are suitable for a particular temperature regime, one has to consider the climate of the region in which this pair of shoes will be used,  since in regions with high humidity, the cold is felt in a greater degree.
• don’t forget to consider the activity and thermoregulation of the child
• read the operating guidelines enclosed in each box
